New Management Company

The Board has encountered numerous problems with our current management company over the past year. In late Summer, we resolved to find a new management company, and after interviewing candidates have selected a new firm. On Monday, November 22nd, the Preserve at Wynmar HOA Board of Directors voted unanimously to contract with Koger Management Group.

Koger is a very large, local property management company. With over 28 years of experience and an office staff of more than 60 people, we hope to receive the kind of attention that we need as a new community, as well as efficiencies of service and leverage to improve our vendor contracts. Koger's contract begins on January 1, 2005.

Update on Poplar Tree Road, Development

I recently received an email from Mike Coyle, who works in Supervisor Frey's office. I'd asked for an update on the Poplar Tree / Stringfellow traffic issues, and on the rezoning for the Renaissance Homes community next to St. Timothy's. In short, they're monitoring the traffic light but don't think there's anything that can be done immediately; the zoning application has been recommended for approval and Renaissance is on the hook for a traffic light and straightening the road; and there's a Bond referendum on the ballot next Tuesday that could provide funding for Stringfellow improvements.

The Social Committee is throwing a Halloween Carnival, to be held October 30 from 2-4 PM in the Autumn Glory Way Common Area. Activities include games, a costume parade, hot dogs, snacks, and prizes. Activities are going to be staffed by neighborhood teens, while parents will handle the grilling.

He then went on to address several incidents of damage to the park and the stone wall, and finally spoke of procedures for addressing fallen trees and other unsightly debris.

On Monday, June 28, 2004, the Preserve at Wynmar HOA Board of Directors held an Open Meeting for all Homeowners. What follows are notes taken by one board member, in the hope that those who couldn't make the meeting will at least be able to learn what was discussed. They have not been adopted as formal "Minutes" for the meeting.
